Is the development of nanotech in medicine being suppressed by the pharmaceutical companies?

martin h asked:

If we could inject ourselves with single-cell sized robots that could be programmed to do anything, wouldn’t that make all medication obsolete? All the theory, and most of the technology is there. It’s just a matter of putting in the cash. By the way, this would cure AIDS also. Your thoughts?

Why do some of the Nanotech stocks have such a high price in their chart history?

petron asked:

I am newly into investing in nanotechnology stocks. When I look at their stock value charts some show very high stock prices a few years back. Advanced Nanotech, AVNA shows a value in the thousands back in 2000-2001. Biosantee Pharma, BPA and Arrowhead Research, ARWR also show high values in the past. Does anyone have an idea why this is.
